Spill Pallets and IBC Containment
This collection covers drum spill containment and IBC tote containment from UltraTech and ENPAC, including an outdoor unit for drums, IBC spill pallets with drains and an outdoor modular unit for two totes. Shops, plants, farms and fleet yards use them to store oil, DEF, chemicals and other liquids in drums and totes while catching leaks. An IBC spill pallet holds one tote above a sump that catches what leaks or drips.
How to choose
- Sump capacity: pick a sump that holds at least the contents of the largest drum or tote on it. Check whether your rules call for more.
- Indoor or outdoor: outdoor units need a cover to keep rain out of the sump and sun off the containers.
- Drain: a drain makes it easier to empty rainwater or captured liquid. Keep it closed and check it often.
- Handling: check whether the unit can be moved by forklift and how you will load drums or totes.
Common questions
Can I dispense from a tote on a spill pallet?
Yes. Check the clearance at the tote valve first. For DEF totes, see DEF pumps and tote kits.
What about flammable liquids?
Flammables may also need a hazmat storage building or safety cabinet. Ask your fire marshal what applies.
