DEF Dispensers and Systems
A DEF dispenser moves diesel exhaust fluid from storage into trucks and equipment through a pump, hose and auto shut-off nozzle, usually with a meter. This collection includes complete systems with built-in tanks and a remote dispensing pedestal with a hose reel and pulse meter for a fueling island. Fleet yards, farm shops and equipment dealers use this DEF dispensing equipment to track usage and keep the fluid clean.
How to choose
- Pump power: 12V pumps suit portable and truck-mounted units. 115V and 120V pumps suit fixed sites with power.
- Metering: a flow meter shows each fill. A pulse meter can send data to a fuel management system for tracking by vehicle.
- Hose: a hose reel keeps the hose clean and off the ground, which helps protect DEF purity.
- Cold weather: DEF freezes at about 12°F, so choose a heated system for cold climates.
Common questions
Do I need a separate tank?
Most systems here include a tank. The remote pedestal draws from separate storage; see DEF tanks.
What standard should DEF equipment meet?
Look for parts compatible with ISO 22241, the quality standard for DEF. The wrong materials can contaminate the fluid.
Can I dispense straight from totes?
Yes, with a tote pump kit. See DEF pumps and tote kits.
