Skid Fuel Tanks

A skid tank sits on steel rails, so it can be set on a pad or level ground and moved with a forklift when the job changes. This collection includes double wall UL-142 skid tanks in a wide range of sizes, single wall farm skids and skid tanks sold with pump packages. Contractors, farms and fleets choose a fuel tank on skid rails when storage needs to move with the work.

How to choose

  • Style: skids are the easiest to relocate. Saddle and bracket tanks raise the shell off the ground for permanent sites, and vertical tanks save ground space.
  • Wall type: double wall skids carry their own containment. Single wall skids usually need a dike or berm.
  • Handling: check the empty weight on the product page and confirm your forklift can lift it at delivery and each time you move it.
  • Pump: decide between a 12V pump, a 115V pump or a tank sold with a complete pump package.

Common questions

Can I move a skid tank with fuel in it?
Plan to move skid tanks empty unless the maker says otherwise. A full tank is far heavier and harder to handle safely.

Is a skid tank a good fit for a jobsite?
It is a common choice, because it sets down and picks up quickly. Our construction page shows a typical jobsite setup.
