Vertical Fuel Tanks
A vertical fuel tank stands upright, so it stores fuel on a smaller footprint than a horizontal tank of similar capacity. Municipal shops, equipment yards and facilities with tight space often choose this style. Our current model is a double wall UL-142 vertical tank for diesel or gasoline. Contact us if you need a different capacity.
How to choose
- Height: check overhead clearance for lights, roof lines and the delivery driver's access to the fill.
- Pad: a vertical tank needs a level concrete pad that can carry its full weight when filled.
- Anchoring: tall tanks are often anchored against wind and, in some regions, seismic loads. Ask your engineer or local authority what your site needs.
- Fuel draw: plan how you will pump fuel out. Gravity draw from a low outlet is restricted for some fuels, so check with your fire marshal.
Common questions
Should I choose a vertical or a skid tank?
Choose vertical when ground space is tight and the tank will stay put. Choose a skid tank if you need to move it or want the fittings within easy reach.
How is a vertical tank delivered?
It ships by freight, and a tank this size needs lifting equipment on site to unload and set in place. Check the shipping weight first. For other large tanks, see bulk fuel tanks.
